HomeRide Report Jan 8 2012

Since no one posted, here goes.

Tried to start RT and my electrical gremlins surfaced again. But damm I'm stubborn, I want to ride and I'm going anyway. Arriving at the Lookout there are 5 bikes.

MJ new and by now famous Triple Black is there, some dude on a Ducati(I think he's lost), a new new guy an a new bike (Only 100 mi.or so) and some more. Then 3 more bikes pull in for a total of 9, on a beautiful day for January. Let's see there was Rev.Ray, CJ, MJ, Marcello,Kevin, Jonathan, Dominick, new Richard and me.

Off we go, my bike stalls, off we actually go, in true Citibeemers style we head south to go north, on our way to Walwick. We enter Walwick,NJ but that's not it, we want the NY one. Up, down and around then finally to Rt.17 & 17A. Past 2 ski resorts and this time they both are open. The Marcello pulls over, I slow and pull over but he makes a U-turn and off he goes, so no mechanical problem, maybe a bluetooth phone call and he gotta go.

So off to breakfast. Arriving in Walwick, NY and here is Marcello again, stating his E-Z Pass fell of going over the mountain but he couldn't find it,and then while catching up was maybe exceeding the speed limit and suprise there was a cop set up for radar. Guess his detector works well. Breakfast at G's was really good. I'd forgotten how good the food there was and they had the back room empty so no waiting for a table. Bellies full it was time to take a slow wind home, stopped for gas and Kevin broke off, then stopped to look for the E-Z Pass

and Dom broke off, I tried to help, went a few inches off the pavement, got stuck in rocks, smoked my rear tire and the clutch a little, elect.problem again, Ray helps me out, no luck on the pass (that's $24 for a lost tag) and were off. Ride 17A, go through Harriman Park, oops there is quite a bit of gravel from pot hole repair, everyone slows and makes it, over Bear Mtn., road there was beautiful to the Bridge
(someone doesn't have an EZ Pass,,Ha! Ha!) I should talk, I lost one too, how do you think I know how much it costs. Then up to the right snakey road to the parking area overlooking the beautiful Hudson. It really is a wonderful river that's not dammed and always has water. Took pictures and we're off, down to the circle, wait for bikes caught in traffic, then someone on a red GT forgot to wait at a turn, but we figured it out and we all met on the highway, and on to everyones home.

CJ invited me to his house to teach me how to remove the tank and find my elect.gremlins, which we did, think we found it and presto it's fixed.

We hope.

So no more snide comments Paulie Boy. (Ha!Ha!) Enough about me. See you on the road or at the Holiday Party. Ride

Safe & Ride Forever,

Craig

P.S.-Jessie we need your ride reports, they are so much better and fancier. Heal completly and see you soon!

Thanks Craig for filing the report. Not a bad turnout for a Jan 8th ride!

We certainly had an interesting route on the way to Warwick but, as always, a big thanks to Rev Ray for leading. Once we got to route 17A, our pace picked-up considerably (as usual). I guess the higher revs I was running (to keep up with Rev and CJ) managed to spring lose my NEW EZ-Pass. It didn't even last 1 full ride!

After turning around to look for it, I had considerable distance to make-up, since the group NEVER stops. Just by luck, I saw the trooper just before crossing double lines to pass a car (and I was flying). Gotta love those BMW ABS brakes.

Thanks to all for stopping and waiting while the Rev, Craig and I looked for it - without success. As Craig already mentioned, he managed to get stuck - but didn't drop it. All ended well however.

It was really great to ride with everyone again. Oh, almost forgot, MJ's new ride is hot!!

Cheers,

--Marcello
